The Donnellson Public Library is one of only 17 small libraries in Iowa to be selected for a partnership to offer free art classes to seniors (55 or older.)  The grant was given to the Iowa Arts Council in partnership with the State Library of Iowa from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.  Classes will be taught by Nicole Karath,  program coordinator at the Art Center of Burlington. The free classes will be held in March or April in the new library’s activity room.  Please stop by City Hall or the Library to pick up a questionnaire.  Donnellson area residents may also request a questionnaire to be mailed to them by calling 319/835-5545, or by e-mail: What kind of class would you like?  Painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, collage?  Also, our instructor is limited to teaching on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday, between 10:00a.m. and 4:00 p.m.  We need to know what time you would be able to attend.  “This is a wonderful opportunity to get free art lessons!  Don’t delay!” said Library Director, Brenda Knox.
