We are Building a Better World, literally! Our new library should be ready in July, so we have shorter Summer Reading program time this year. That does not mean we won't have reading sheets and incentives all summer long, though. We have several incentives planned: Adults vs. Kids Lego tower! Read a book, add a brick to the tower. Who can get the highest tower built before school begins in August?
Attend one of the library programs in June, including Story Hour for Preschoolers on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m., or Summer Reading Program for school-aged kids on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m., and get a prize from the treasure box. We will be having a "clean-out-the closet" building contest, and other fun, hands-on activities the entire month of June. Then, learn how you can help us move into the new library in July! We will need all hands on deck!
Grout Museum: Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., for all kids and families. Explore six simple machines and how we use them everyday. Learn about recycling and water filtration. Learn about inventor Nikola Tesla, and how he made a better world. FREE! at the old library.
Blank Park Zoo: Animal Architects: Thursday, July 13, 10:00 a.m. at the Pilot Grove Bank Community room. Fun for the entire family! The zoo staff will bring 4 interesting animals famous for building a perfect home in their habitat. Kids will get an opportunity to pet at least one animal, with the permission of the zoo staff. This show is always a favorite!
