For Adults

Programs and services especially for adults.

The Writer's Bloc

The Writer's Bloc, a support group for aspiring authors, meets each month at the Donnellson Public Library in the Local and Family History Department.  Area authors and illustrators share their current projects with others who would like to become published.  The meetings are free, and open to any interested person.  The group meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 1:00 p.m.  Please make a note of this new meeting day! Newcomers are urged to bring a piece they are currently writing, or examples of their art work to share.

The Donnellson Book Core

The Donnellson Book Core is a book discussion group that meets on the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Local and Family History Department.  Books are chosen by consensus at least two months prior to each meeting.  The copies are then ordered by the Library Director, and available for pick-up any time during the week of the meeting.  New members are welcome, and may notify the librarian in charge that they are interested in joining the club.

Each May, in honor of the anniversary of the founding of the club, members choose a book to buy, and donate money to purchase multiple copies to share with other libraries.  The club is currently in its third year.
