Borrow from another library

Our library is connected to other libraries throughout the state and nation. If you can't find an item in this library, ask library staff to help you get it from another library.

Interlibrary loan is usually a free service.  If the book is in an Iowa library, there is no  charge.

Occasionally, if we are not able to get the book in Iowa, we may need to pay a $10.00 fee to get the book.  If you are able, we ask that you make a donation to help cover the expense to our library.

Interlibrary loan books are sent to our library for a one-month period, unless special circumstances apply.  If so, the librarian in charge will let you know if the book, video, or disc has a shorter loan period.  We check the item out to you for our usual two-week time period, with the understanding that if you need an additional week, you will call to renew the book. Please allow one-week in order to return the item to the lending library.

We ask that you try to limit your interlibrary loan books to 3 at one time.

Please let the librarians know what books you would like to order
