Library Card

Library Cards: Any resident of Donnellson or the nearby rural communities may obtain a library card, beginning at age 5. Library cards are good for a period of four years, after which time, a patron's record will need to be updated. Parents are responsible for supervising library checkouts by for children under 16. A parent or guardian will need to sign each child's library card application, and will be responsible for the payment for damaged books, or lost materials. The first replacement is free. If the patron regularly needs a replacement, patron will be charged $1.00 per card. 

OPEN ACCESS: The Donnellson Public Library participates in the State of Iowa's Open Access program. Anyone holding a library card from a neighboring city, such as Fort Madison, West Point, Montrose, Keokuk, Farmington, or Mount Pleasant, may get a card, and checkout materials from the Donnellson Public Library. If potential patron is from outside lee county, staff will need to see their home library card, proof of address (such as a driver's license) prior to issuing a card from Donnellson. Interlibrary Loan materials should be ordered by the "home" library.

The library reserves the right to limit the number of items checked-out to any resident as need arrises.
